Child cataract operation

£75

With a straightforward operation, a child who was blind can regain their sight.

This gift is especially time-sensitive; if a child with cataract isn't treated before they reach the age of seven, the chances of their vision being fully restored is reduced.

Kuldeep Singh received his sight-restoring cataract operation when he was nine months old and his family were overjoyed.

"We'd like Kuldeep to be a doctor when he grows up so that he can help restore vision and bring happiness to others" Kuldeep's mother, Chelu, India

Kajol's sight started to deteriorate when he was six years old. Even though his father knew that Kajol had a problem with his eyes, he felt very helpless as he couldn't afford the treatment.

That was until one of our partners found Kajol and referred him to an eye hospital, where he was diagnosed with cataract in both eyes.

After a quick operation, Kajol can look forward to a much brighter future.

"I'm looking forward to going back to school" Eight-year-old Kajol, Bangladesh
