Sightsavers has been working in India since 1966, bringing eye care within reach of some of its poorest communities.

Last year alone, we supported over 83,000 cataract operations and provided rehabilitation training to over 2,500 people with irreversible blindness or low vision.

As well as assisting with our rehabilitation and education work, your gift could also provide treatment that can prevent sight loss or surgery that can restore the sight of someone like Pathudhu, who recently had a cataract operation.

Vikram has low vision and is educated for free at a specialist school where he is developing his Braille skills. He also attends bi-annual eye camps run by one of our partners.

At the eye camps the children are trained in various skills and taught how to use low vision aids. It's also a great opportunity to meet other visually impaired children.

"I have been to more than five of these camps and I've already made three new friends at this one!" 13-year-old Vikram Manobhi, India
