Spectacles are one of the simplest ways of improving the lives of people with poor vision in the developing world.

Many people are 'blind' just because they lack a pair of glasses; they are unaware of just how much their vision could be improved, or they simply don't have access to such essential items.

Your gift could provide eye tests and glasses for four people.

Liakat and his family live in the impoverished region of Rajasthan, India. Cut off from the world of doctors and hospitals, the family had nowhere to turn when Liakat developed problems with his sight.

Thanks to a survey in the area, Liakat was identified as needing help and invited to a special eye camp where he was examined and prescribed glasses.

Now Liakat's life has turned around. For the first time he is attending school, getting an education that will give him the best possible chance of a bright future.
